Fashion Editorial shoot on the beach for Old London Road in Steenberg Village.

One of my favourite things about my job is that I get to meet people from all over the world, without ever leaving Cape Town!! Ok- so I sometimes leave Cape Town, but most of the time the world comes to me :) Aestee and Hichael are my first couple from Singapore and they were lovely to work with! We hung out with the amazing African penguins at Boulder’s Beach – 2 of which tried to eat Hichael! It was a fun shoot :)

Joey and Courtney, along with their 4 children, moved to South Africa a couple of years ago all the way from Tennessee! Last month, the welcomed the 5th addition to the family – a new baby girl named Baylor. I love hanging out with this family and I have to admit, seeing them all together gathered around the new bundle kinda made me want 5 kids!!! Courtney truly is super mom – she does such a fantastic job with her family – and I am certain that little Baylor is going to be the happiest little girl surrounded by such a loving family.

There is just something about babies- their smell, their cuddle factor, and the way they look in beanies… Newborn sessions are always among my favourites for all of these reasons! AND the added bonus that I get my “baby-fix” and therefore have no need to have more of my own!!! I might borrow of few of my friends though – just for the afternoon ;)
Enjoy baby jack!

As a wedding photographer, I get to share in so many amazing moments with the couples I have the privilege of photographing. These are some of my favourite moments from 2012 in Cape Town, Mozambique, and all over South Africa. As I was curating this collection it brought back so many amazing memories and reminded me of how truly blessed I really am to do this for a living. I am forever grateful to the couples who have entrusted me with capturing their most precious day. This post is dedicated to them!

Hands does the best proposal reaction ever. I only wish I had captured sound as well – her reaction was awesome. Such a sweet couple and Cape Town blessed us with some nice sunshine for a winter shoot and everything just went so perfectly. Congrats to Jason and Jade!! Thanks so much for inviting me to play a part in such an amazing moment in your lives- I hope the images make all the excitement, tears and joy come rushing back.

Baby Selah was star! So peaceful and content – she made for a wonderfully beautiful and natural photo session. Just when I thought she was drifting to sleep, she flashed me a “peace” sign – so perfectly fitting for her lovely peaceful nature. Proud parents Steffan and Marcy are already showing off their mad parenting skills with this little angel. Introducing‚Ķ baby Selah!

Oh what a beautiful site! I love getting to follow the stories of my wedding clients/friends into their next season of parenthood :) Robin and Kat got married back in 2012 and now they are a family of 3!! They were visiting Franschhoek again on holiday and invited me to capture this next phase of their story together- absolutely beautiful!

At the end of last year I had the privilege of tagging along with the international directors of Hand of Hope- the humanitarian outreach of Joyce Meyer Ministries. We visited a few of their children feeding sites and even had a big Christmas party for all of them at the end of the week where they were all given a warm winter jacket and pant set. It was an amazing trip to be a part of and I loved getting to go deep into the villages to see parts of the country most tourists don’t get a chance to. Thai people are the sweetest, kindest folk I have ever been around.

Wow! What a year! Finally finishing a crazy wedding season for these gorgeous 2013 couples so I get a chance to sit down and go through some of my favourites.
We had quite an adventure traveling all over the place, experiencing some amazing weddings in some incredible places: Johannesburg, Bloemfontein, Lesotho, and the beautiful Cape. We even had the pleasure of doing a traditional Sotho wedding and an awesome Greek New Years Eve party wedding! Thanks so much to all our new friends who invited us to be a part of their special day. A special thanks to Brad Senekal and Tanya Adams, our fabulous associate photographers who helped with the second shooting on these weddings. Enjoy!

I first met Lisa and Julian back in August of 2012 when their little girl was still a baby, crawling around in the freezing cold sand. Now she has grown into the cutest little girl with a new baby brother! To welcome little Cameron to the Ziegenhardt family, we did a new session for them and this time in a magical forest park :) A gorgeous family bursting with energy and laughter running through the trees – a perfect way to spend a sunny winter afternoon.
